Sangumburi Crater
In Korean: 산굼부리
Sangumburi Crater is a maar-type crater, a hole left when an explosion occurred without spewing lava or volcanic ash, with a circumference of more than 2 km, and it is designated a natural monument.
Evergreen broadleaf trees grow on the sunny north cliff and deciduous trees on the shaded south cliff, so the vegetation inside the crater differs by side. It is open all year: 09:00–18:40 in March–June and September–October, and 09:00–17:40 in July–August and November–February. Individual admission is 7,000 won for adults.
